FYI....
editSpiritual Photography
editBrand new to Wikipedia and have been trying to update this subject matter today. Cannot understand why my updates just disappear? This is a unique subject matter, so it is hard to find 'references', by the very nature of the subject matter. Pattywow (talk) 16:30, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
Phantom Photography
edit1. Phantom photography may be linked to spiritual photography in that OR gate testing, quantum computing can generate phantom images of all sorts of people and events, all of the World.
2. Radiology may be used to photograph ghosts yet this is expert knowledge among the few for now. No scientific papers I know about. Care to investigate?

- No, sorry. Wikipedia prohibits original research. We summarize content from reputable, published sources. - LuckyLouie (talk) 14:47, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
Redirect from Ghost photography and adding modern examples
editWould it be advisable to set up a redirect from "Ghost Photography" to "Spirit Photography"? One exists for "Orb Photography" to "Backscatter (photography)". I am stating this since I had a hard time finding this page. I needed help from LuckyLouie to get here. I am guessing that I would not be the only one?Alhill42 (talk) 21:18, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- I assume you have found some evidence the term is commonly used or interchangeable, not just by you, but by a significant number of searchers? For example: [1]. If so, redirect away. - LuckyLouie (talk) 21:50, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- LuckyLouie Thank you for that example. It is very helpful. I was using the terminology that was in my sources (Ben Radford's book "Investigating Ghosts"), News paper articles (BBC and others) and articles from Skeptical Inquirer. I have noticed that my book, "The Haunted" by Owen Davies uses the term "Spirit Photography". (I wish I had noticed that earlier). It seems like the use of the Term "spirit" vs "ghost" has to do with the time period. Ghost seems to refer to more modern examples of claims. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am still learning a lot.
- I would like to add material about modern photography that would include things like photo apps that make ghosts appear and other reasons for ghostly images, such as insects flying close to a security camera lenses, camera straps, long exposures etc., using reliable sources to the best of my ability. Your thoughts would be appreciated.Alhill42 (talk) 17:40, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- First time I really looked at this article in a long time. Hadn't noticed how short it was before. Sounds like your proposed additions could be useful. And you seem to have WP:RS reliable sources to draw from. If you have any technical or process questions, no matter how elementary, don't hesitate to ask at Wikipedia:Teahouse. - LuckyLouie (talk) 18:40, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
I have significantly revised the page and after much reading discovered the differentiation between spirit photography and ghost photography from one of Joe Nickell's books (included in the page). I wasn't sure if I should have two separate pages or have one. I decided on one but if anyone feels differently, let me know. Suggestions and comments are appreciated. I will be creating a redirect from ghost photography. Alhill42 (talk) 18:03, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
