The contents of this page had been moved into the Spiritual world article. I have moved them back since the overwhelming usage in Mormonism is "spirit world".

It may eventually be necessary to create a specific article called "Spirit world (Mormonism)" to discuss this particular bit of Mormon theology. But for now it should at least be kept separate. -- andersonpd 01:24, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

"THE SPIRIT WORLD" covers the teaching of the Christian Holy Scriptures on the "Spirit World." It teaches on the "Power of Good and Evil," the "Underworld," "Satan," the "Fallen Angels," "Demonism," "Soul Sleep," the "Resurrections & Judgments" and "Heaven & Hell."

The Mormon perspective, alone, is far too limited and is a bit like science fiction when compared to what the Bible has to say on this matter.

This article is ABOUT the Church of Latter Day Saints beliefs on the matter. If you want perspective and discussion on OTHER churches, perhaps you should visit OTHER pages. I don't understand why there is a question on this here?

Why has the article been restricted to Mormonism?

It appears that many other religions have teachings related to a "Spirit World" (I would like to remark the complex theology of Spiritism regarding that matter). jggouvea 01:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

The way things currently stand, a redirect would be fine for now. However, I think Spirit prison has the potential for being a pretty good article, and I've added it to my watch list, and my to-do list as an article to expand. Title and Name Technicality

If this article is referring to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (with a hyphen,) the church that was restored through Joseph Smith Jr. and continues today with about 14 million members (as of 2010) under the leadership of Thomas Spencer Monson, then the title in the article should be changed to contain a hyphen. If this article refers to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (without a hyphen,) a small Mormon religious group that was lead to Wisconsin by a man named James Strang, then leave it as it is without a hyphen. Since the smaller religious group of Latter Day Saints originally came from the Latter-day Saints, their doctrines of the Spirit World may be similar if not the same, but I think it would be best to correctly distinguish which church is referenced here.

Such information can be verified using the two churches' web sites.

The current name conforms to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Latter Day Saints). More than just the Latter-day Saints believe in the spirit world—all members of the Latter Day Saint movement believe in this. Good Ol’factory ^(talk) 09:47, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Popular use: permanent abode of sons of perdition

Believed by who? Source? 2. There is evidence that there will be many sons of perdition. All those that receive the Holy Ghost, have the heavens opened unto them, and know God, and then sin against him. What about all the people that live during the millennium?
