Who is this page written for?

"From the above definition of Spot Color, we can easily understand that every spot color needs to be color-separated on a separate lithographic film."

Well, no, it is not easy to understand unless you already know about what Spot color is - in which case you wouldn't need to read the page.Dejvid 00:14, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Spot Color Definition

edit

Many people (even in offset industry) may not realize the exact meaning of spot color unless after a while. The problem is that this industry is now full of ignorant people, who actually have a very limited expertise. IMHO, the article of Spot Color I wrote needs further elaboration, and I promise to enrich it in the near future.

Hey Mohamed, you shouldn't go around talking about ignorant people until you can use grammar correctly. (That's IMHO) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.155.103.158 (talk) 19:47, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Can spot colors be binding?

edit

Experience has shown that even the most reputed companies like Pantone change their minds in defining spot colors. The fact that offset printed swatches of standard color kits may discolor with time (manufacturers guarantee them for one year) proves that these books may not last forever. The latter fact means that clients' printed materials will also change with time and their standard Corporate Identity will change too.

In other words the clients should also state that their corporate ID distributed to advertising agencies is not a valid reference after one year due to discoloring factors. No one can ever ensure that offset printed spot colors will last.

Hello, I removed this section from the article, because it struck me as a mixture of original research and uncited claims. If anyone can rewrite this section and add citations to fix these problems, please do so. Vectro 22:35, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is an important issue, and it is not an original research. Also, unfortunately it is not documented online. There were some links before, but they are not operational. --Mohamed Al-Dabbagh 11:42, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, claims in Wikipedia articles must be verifiable and cited using reliable sources. I have again removed the material in question. Unless you can provide citations (even offline citations) to verify it, please do not again add the material. Thanks, Vectro 22:18, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
