"They cost anywhere from two to three times a normal watermelon (at about $83)."

edit

Idk where you buy your water melons but here they usually cost in the area of a few $, not 25-40$ (which would be 1/2 to 1/3 of the price listed)— Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.217.46.143 (talkcontribs) 21:06, 9 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Even here in expensive Norway watermelons often cost below 1$ per kilo. I was about to edit it, but then I saw that one of the references said exactly that, and it seems editing an article to say something different than the references is not so popular. One could of course just remove the reference or the mention of cost. The sentence as it stands could also be interpreted as saying the normal price of watermelons is $83. --89.11.156.190 (talk) 12:04, 25 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I think the source is just referring to Japan, where prices for fresh fruit seem to be much higher. I'll clarify the sentence. --Lord Belbury (talk) 08:36, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
