Please consult Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (Thailand-related articles)#Cast votes

Arrigo has been moving this article even though the naming issue was solved by Violetriga. Arrigo please stop your unwarranted moves on other articles without waiting for the end of a discussion, you are in violation of Wikipedia rules. thank you. Gryffindor

It was suggested that this article should be renamed Sangwal Mahidol. The vote is shown below: royal titles are not included in article titles

  • oppose of course they are - at33 17:40, 11 July 2005 (UTC)

There is something deeply disturbing in the alleged closing of the vote, actually unsigned abovew. This diff [1] shows interestingly that besides closing a vote, the closer (violetriga) had also somehow produced the two opinions there presented. 217.140.193.123 20:56, 26 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose, keep her at the simple location. There's no consensus in the Thai manual of style, yet the short name fits the manual of style of western royals. andy 21:28, 26 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per simple location (agree with Andy). Keep her at Srinagarindra rather than put any titles nor territorial designations to the heading. Srinagarindra is a unique given name, never belonged to anyone else than this lady - thus no disambiguation is needed. This simplicity is endorsed by a clear majority in polling these questions for MoS Thailand. Arrigo 16:10, 30 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

It was requested that this article be renamed but there was no consensus for it be moved. Dragons flight 01:54, August 31, 2005 (UTC)

Bwahaha. It seems that Antares is not capable of writing an article about a royal woman without stating repetitively that Her Royal Highness the Princess did whatever... same fullness of titulary probably if her royal highness the princess went to toilet :)) 217.140.193.123 21:24, 10 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Am I correct in having an impression that the text is taken from the subject's dynasty website, copyright held by someone there??? 217.140.193.123 21:24, 10 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

EUPHEMISM

edit

Somebody replaced "passed away" with "died" per WP:EUPHEMISM, which is okay by me, but EUPHEMISM is the rule for Thai, when speaking of respected personages. Pawyilee (talk) 12:18, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Revisions

edit

I have made some revisions in order to make this article less mystic sounding and more encyclopedia-like despite the fact, that for Thais the Royal family of Great King Rama IX. is sacrosanct - a factum which I respect because it is their culture. -- Adherent of the Enlightenment 10.0 (talk) 17:55, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

It still has enormous problems with neutrality. --85.226.47.128 (talk) 16:24, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sewing needle??? I feel like there is a lack of context of the story behind it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tartscoffee (talkcontribs) 08:46, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
