Delition proposition

I have tagged the page for deletion because it lacks notability to be in this proyect, sadly Wikipedia looks more of a USpedia or a Irrelevantpedia or a Wiki because the proyect lacks a more firm control of the notability rule. I disagree. This school has produced several notable alumni ([1] [2]). Also secondary schools tend to pass notability per WP:OUTCOMES. Yes, there is a problem with bias, but please do not prod notable topics to make the WP:POINT. • Gene93k 20:36, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

What can be changed?

I would like to update this article and bring it more "up to code," as it were. What changes/additions/etc do you think need to be made or would you like to see? Obviously I should proofread the entire article. Additionally, is there some way to register articles to be watched by administrators for potential vandalism? This article has suffered from that frequently and reversion from vandalism takes quite a while. --Jeopardyfish (talk) 03:29, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Notable alumni

Yes, Robert M. McGovern is notable because he has an article. However, if you include him, ensure there is a WP:RS tying him to St. John's. Student7 (talk) 16:07, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

I removed quite a number of supposed alumni who did not have articles here [3]. I left a few who could be presumed notable even without articles. Some of the ones I removed may well be notable, but will require articles to show this. Meters (talk) 00:15, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

Meters what is your criteria for whether a person is notable for inclusion in a list of alumni? School alumni lists are not merely lists of alumni. They are lists of notable alumni. The standards for establishing notability for people (and thus for having articles about them) exist, and longstanding consensus is that we do not list alumni who do not have wikipedia articles to establish their notability. Exceptions can be made (as I did here) for people who would clearly qualify for an article per our notability standards if one were written for them, but simply being a doctor, or professor, or CEO is not sufficient. See WP:WTAF, WP:NLIST, WP:SOURCELIST and WP:ALUMNI. Meters (talk) 04:23, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Your source does not say that he is not longer president of St. John's College High School. It says he will become head of a different school in July 2024. You need a source that says he is no longer the president now. Meters (talk) 02:30, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
