Not sure about the lede as it stands. It sounds like a piece of trade puffery, if you ask me, and not very encyclopaedic. Any comments? Fmph (talk) 12:59, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

"John Cole... had a deliberate policy of teaching his subject to every pupil". Utter nonsense. I suggest that this policy changed over the years or perhaps only he only taught the top stream? This certainly did not occur in the lower streams. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.113.173.169 (talk) 17:19, 2 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's what the sources say. Can you find another printed or online source that provides an alternative view? We have to rely on sources not on personal experiences. Dahliarose (talk) 09:33, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've just cut this as overly detailed and not notable info, but somewhere along the line it changed to " had a deliberate policy of teaching every pupil in their first year", rather than "teaching his subject". Without seeing the source, not sure which is correct. Tacyarg (talk) 20:28, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
