Church information
editThe time and date of services are non-encyclopedic, as is the name of the minister, unless they meet notability standards. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 21:25, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Disagree. Time of services is enyclopedic providing the time alone is stated with out extra information. The minister is notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.39.73.69 (talk) 20:20, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Does the minister have a Wikipedia article? No? Non-notable, sorry. Check every other church article on Wikipedia - no times of service. This is not a town directory. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 20:58, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm afraid I have to disagree with you here. If you look on Church of Scotland Churches many of the churches have service times, some with a whole section devoted to it. However as this page is for St Cyrus and not the church alone it may be that we can agree to leave service times out of this article, although they are in the Mearns Costal Parish Church Article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.231.7 (talk) 15:32, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
As the person who created this section, I feel that the times probably don't need including. I'm going to reinstate the community groups section. Please add if you have more info. Thanks --Uvghifds (talk) 15:49, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
I hope that I have explained why the service times are notable without advertising, however I still think it needs rephrasing. Please reword my edit if you can. --Uvghifds (talk) 15:57, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- It is not notable. Wikipedia is not a directory service. There is no valid reason to include this in the article. This is an encyclopedia. --Smashvilletalk 16:21, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
I am not going to put the info back yet, however this information is not directory only. I feel it is of interest to people reading about the village in an encylopedia about the service times swapping annually. More discussion required before I review my position and interpretation of the rules. I would urge Smashville to look at the category of church of scotland churches and to see how many of them list service times.--Uvghifds (talk) 17:03, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. In fact in this case, it looks like all of those articles need to be cleaned up. This is absolutely not something that belongs on Wikipedia. --Smashvilletalk 17:33, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Lard?
