My friend and I were talking about "Jimmy's" and wondered if anybody knows what happened to the little girl called "Kirsty" who had brittle bones and chrones sydrome? We know she is from the Selby area.

Even if anyone did know the history of a patient, it would be confidential.--163.160.252.16 (talk) 16:49, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Largest Teaching Hospital in Europe

edit

This claim is made in a number of web pages and publications by the NHS Trust and the University of Leeds. However, the same claim is made by Queen's Medical Centre (Nottingham), Ninewells (Dundee), Musgrave Park (Belfast), AP-HP (Paris) and Charité (Berlin). How should Wikipedia deal with these rival claims? Chemical Engineer (talk) 22:06, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Derriford hospital in Plymouth, UK should also be included it has 1100 beds. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.195.85.185 (talk) 23:21, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

So? The Charité has 3.500 beds! It seems fairly ridiculous, that a hospital with not even 1.000 beds could be called larger than that. What does "largest" mean, by the way? "Largest" in what respect? Beds? Staff? Students? Budget? Parking lots? The problem here is not the question whom to grant this distinction -- it's the claim itself, which is problematic. As of now, the "largest teaching hospital in Europe" does say nothing. The article does not even mention how many students there are enrolled at St. James's. Without such basic information, it's hard to compare anything. Zero Thrust (talk) 15:26, 2 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Name of the Hospital

edit

If you look at the picture of the main entrance, the sign says "St James's University Hospital" as does the NHS web page. It is not James', so please do not attempt to correct it.Chemical Engineer (talk) 17:54, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Note also from the history section that it was named after two people named James.Chemical Engineer (talk) 21:42, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
