Comment, No.

• The reason given here isn't sufficient. Only in the case of a really important building or organisation should the location be excluded. (St Peter's Basilica for example) There is no reason at all why other high schools dedicated to St John the Evangelist should not exist, as in fact they do, in Mumbai, for example. It is only the precise name (ie the inclusion of the word "Catholic") that makes this name different from any other. That isn't sufficient distinction.
• I observe that in suggesting this name change, you have also inserted a period after the St (Saint). Is this an intended or accidental insertion? The policy of the school is to omit it, as in the article's present heading.

• Support but without the full stop, per WP:PRECISION. There is no other article currently on WP using this name (with or without "Catholic"), so no need to disambiguate the article title on WP. Disagree. Let me put it to you that this is not a famous school. The chances of someone searching for it under the exact name, with the words "Evangelist" and "Catholic" both included are unlikely, unless the person is a student or staff of the the school. It is much more likely to be searched as St John's High School, Nowra, or St John the Evangelist High School, Nowra. The important thing is that it is easy to find. Even someone from Nowra might have difficulty finding it, if you don't include the word "Nowra".

The example given in WP:PRECISION is Apollo Program which is known world wide. This is not purely about simplicity; it's about notability and findability. There is a disambig page of St John's High Schools, and this one has been left out. Amandajm (talk) 04:29, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

That's a very reasonable argument, and I agree that findability is an important consideration. However, findability is not dependent on the actual article title. For instance St John's High School, Nowra and St John the Evangelist High School, Nowra can be created as redirects for anyone searching under those phrases (the current title will automatically become a redirect). Even if they are not created, anyone typing those phrases in the search box will eventually find the correct article. And if an article has been left off of an appropriate disambiguation page, it should be added to that page no matter what its title; changing the title will not make it more or less likely to show up on a dab page. I still think that when any topic has a precise name, that name should be the title of its article unless there is a conflict with some other article that would also be using that precise name. Get real! The world is full of "St John's High Schools". The thing that clearly defines this school is not the "Evangelist" or the "Catholic" or both. It is its location in a particular small town on the coast of NSW. In fact, the school is usually referred to as St John the Evangelist High School, Nowra without the inclusion of the word "Catholic". It's the "Nowra" bit that is defining, just as the very much more notable The King's School, Parramatta is defined by location, even though it is almost certainly the only "King's School" in Australia. Basically, unless a school is as famous as Eton or Harrow, it needs a location to identify it, and to argue about it, for no better reason than to press some minor point in the Wiki manual seems foolish. I did a quick Google [1] because the claim that There is only one St. John the Evangelist Catholic High School in the world seemed a bit far fetched, and lo and behold, the very first ghit I got was our own article St. John High School (Plaquemine, Louisiana) which starts St. John The Evangelist High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school... (the bolding is mine to conform to the MOS, but the text is exactly as I found it). There seems nothing wrong with the current name; The rationale given by the proposer is complete rubbish, frankly, and there's nothing in the above discussion to justify a move either.
