Thank you so much! I'll start applying these. Not sure if it would ever be GA worthy but I'd like to bet that at least one of the Anglesey churches are. JAGUAR  12:15, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Mechell

edit

Perhaps try to avoid 19th century sources (or at least check if there are newer sources). Mechell was probably mistakenly identified with the Malo bishop, but turns out to be someone else. See e.g. [1]. Fram (talk) 12:37, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Really? There are lots of sources which have said he was[1][2][3] - though granted they are all a lot older. I can't find any others that say he wasn't - other than the one you provided ツStacey (talk) 13:01, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
P.S. I can't access the sources used on the Mechell article and the link to the archive is broken.
This is an interesting read.. they were the same person? Welsh Biography
Hm, it seems that that story isn't as dead as I thought then... It certainly is disputed, and is only a tangent to the church, so perhaps it doesn't belong in this article but in the Mechell one? Fram (talk) 13:21, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
This is all far too complicated for me! Good luck if you try writing the Mechell article! ツStacey (talk) 13:58, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict)There are also older sources who say he wasn't the malo one, like [2]. For a recent study of the problem, see [ojs.tsv.fi/index.php/scf/article/download/45322/16638], which calls the identification of Mechell/Mechyll with Malo "unhistorical". It also discusses this very church (apparently the only church dedicated to Saint Mechell!). Fram (talk) 13:18, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
