Opera versus “Staatstheater”
editThis article, as it is at present, is about the opera house at Stuttgart and its history. It is not about Staatstheater Stuttgart, which is of course a closely related subject.

The Stuttgart Staatsoper is one of Europe's leading Opera Houses and forms part of the Stuttgart State Theatre (Staatstheater Stuttgart) which is a a three-branch-theatre complex (opera, playhouse and ballet) (...) Thanks to the author of Staatsoper Stuttgart --Ein-Rat-7000 (talk) 18:40, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
here, not ‘National Theatre’
editThe “Staatstheater Stuttgart” is also called “Württembergische Staatstheater Stuttgart”. It is theatre and opera institution of the state (and the city of Stuttgart). In Baden, there is a Staatstheater at Karlsruhe. The “Staat” in the name of this institution had been Württemberg and is now Baden-Württemberg. The word ‘National’ makes you think of Germany. But this is not ment. So, here it is the ‘State Theater’.
See: de:Staatstheater_Stuttgart. First sentence:
- Die Staatstheater Stuttgart sind ein Drei-Sparten-Theater für Oper, Schauspiel und Ballett in der baden-württembergischen Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart.
Drei-Sparten-Theater (für Oper, Schauspiel und Ballett) means: 3 (...) covering opera, drama and ballet. Landeshauptstadt = state capital. --Schwab7000 (talk) 17:09, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
