However, 9 days later, on November 24, 2021, Yahoo News published the above writing by Patton, where she falsely wrote that Rittenhouse's possession of the gun was “illegal."
This constitutes defamation, and is the reason that Yahoo deleted the piece.
The fact that Patton is a journalism professor makes this especially notable. If anyone should know enough to not commit this kind of defamation, it should be her.
