editNo mention of Stamp Duty in the Republic of Ireland ?
Split UK
editI suggest we split the UK section into a new article (Stamp duty in the United Kingdom) and go with just a summary here that references the main article. Morphh (talk) 20:28, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
There is already a Stamp duty land tax page. Fanx 15:24, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Does Stamp duty land tax really merit an article separate from the UK stamp duty section? Given its current small size. I would suggest Stamp duty in the United Kingdom, with SDLT merged into it. If someone can expand SDLT later, it can be split off again. (Mind you, I think I'm biased towards less, but larger, articles) J.Winklethorpe talk 10:39, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think this makes sense. Morphh (talk) 15:31, 01 August 2007 (UTC)

==WP Tax Class==
Could use more references and a see also section, then it should go above a start class.EECavazos 20:57, 13 November 2007 (UTC) ==WP Tax Priority== High priority because the article covers a basic form of taxation that has historical importance and continues today worldwide.EECavazos 20:58, 13 November 2007 (UTC) |

Stamp Act
editAs an American who remembers my history classes "stamp duty" brings to mind the Stamp Act. Is there any relationship between this form of taxation and the taxes Britain imposed on the American Colonies, or is it just a coincidence? 129.93.161.219 (talk) 19:50, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
