Other popular stans-fanbases
editLeona Lewis fans are "buns" (full word "bunnies" used a bit less frequently). She refers to them as such herself on her social media accounts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Horseluvrelisha (talk • contribs) 23:42, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
The first fandom to be called "Soldier" were the Linkin Park stans. They got the name in 2000, two years before Cheryl Cole career started. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.64.190.188 (talk) 20:32, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
Fans of the band DEVO often call themselves Devotees and have been since well before 2000 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.226.152.2 (talk) 17:15, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
I think people kinda forget about "Maggots" the fanbase of Metal band Slipknot, those are stans too, also I think we got "Lovatics" the ones of Demi Lovato, "Moon-children" the ones of Kerli. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.142.242.143 (talk) 21:17, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Given the scope of the article seems to center around stan culture in regards to pop music, the included fanbases seem appropriate. With a reliable source, the ones you mentioned could find a place if they're notable. --Thevampireashlee (talk) 00:24, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
instance with tvxq yunho
editthe instance with tvxq was done by an anti-fan of yunho's not a sasaeng fan. she ran the largest anti-fan cafe of tvxq's at the time. and she was not arrested or tried since yunho didn't want to press charges. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.229.231.65 (talk) 14:29, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
Other Fanbases
edit"Hooligans" – Bruno Mars
- That needs a reliable source. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 17:32, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Another Fanbases
edit"BVB Army" - Black Veil Brides (whole fanbase) "Club Rockers" - INNA — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.239.236.131 (talk) 20:28, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- Those need to be supported with reliable sources in order to be included. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 20:31, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
List of fanbases
editI removed the list of fanbases sections, as it would introduce a POV all fans are stans.
Create a separate List of fanbases could be interesting to host this list content. --Dereckson (talk) 22:26, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
History of term
editEminem's song is only mentioned briefly in the intro. Should this be expanded upon? -KaJunl (talk) 17:09, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Merged to Fan (person). bd2412 T 20:54, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
Stan (fan) → ? – Not so sure about having "fan" as a parenthetical disambiguator. Maybe Stan (person) or Stan (term)? feminist 15:53, 8 August 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. No such user (talk) 08:31, 21 August 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. Steel1943 (talk) 16:03, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
SupportStan (term) although this is a dicdef, wouldn't merging to fan be better? In ictu oculi (talk) 16:41, 8 August 2017 (UTC)- No, this should be kept as an article, per WP:WORDISSUBJECT. feminist 12:56, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- Don't see that. Inclining to merge In ictu oculi (talk) 12:34, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- Change to Merge per DrStrauss below. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:58, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

- Merge to fan per In ictu oculi. "Stan" is a portmanteau of "stalker" and "fan" and while covered in a number of songs such as the track by Eminem, without the content duplicated at fan, the article is little more than a dictionary definition, failing WP:NOTDICT. DrStrauss talk 12:31, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think the current disambiguator is a problem. Do not merge to Fan (person) (which is what I assume the comments above are referring to rather than the dab page) because that is a huge article by itself and would warrant splitting out anyway. —Xezbeth (talk) 06:01, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- Merge to fan (person), not notable enough for its own article. Ivar the Boneful (talk) 14:24, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
Relisting comment: I had originally thought about closing this discussion to "no consensus to move" due to the potential discussion fork pertaining to merging the article into another article, considering "merge" comments without voiced support or opposition for a move could be translated as either "neutral" or "oppose" to the move. If this content is not merged elsewhere, should this article be moved or not?
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Steel1943 (talk) 16:03, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
