I'd like to request that the first sentence of this article be modified to accurately reflect Stan Polovets's identity. Instead of Russian American, as is currently on the page, I ask that it read Russian-born American. While this is a nuanced semantical change, it is a more accurate description of Polovets who immigrated to the United States as a child. MOS:ETHNICITY seems to call for simply "American" here: Per the above guidance, we do not add ethnicity ("Russian-American") or country of birth ("Russian-born American"). These details can be introduced in the second sentence if they are of defining importance. As such, I've closed this edit request and changed to "American" in the lede. His Russian-born status is included later in the article.ezlev (user/tlk/ctrbs) 19:55, 10 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Request removal of edit that violates Wikipedia's notability standard

Request removal of this edit, as it does not comply with Wikipedia’s notability standard, requiring publication in established media. It also contains baseless allegations.
"On September 13, 2023, Polovets was summoned as part of an accusation of sexual assault that occurred in late 2021." AKarlin for GenesisPrize (talk) 22:11, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
a citation has been added to a Jewish Telegraphic Agency article covering the allegation. As to whether the claim is baseless, whats claimed in the edit is that there is an accusation. The fact of the accusation is true as indicated by both the primary and secondary citations. Bombmaniac (talk) 01:49, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate the community's earlier contributions to this thread. Since its initiation, the allegations against Polovets have been publicly refuted by his legal representation, as documented in several reliable publications, including the already-cited JTA article. To align with Wikipedia's commitment to neutrality, I propose adding the following line: ‘Polovets's legal counsel has denied the accusation.' Given that this refutation is cited in the same JTA article, I plan to include it as an additional sentence before the existing citations. I welcome your feedback and will wait 48 to 72 hours before making this edit. AKarlin for GenesisPrize (talk) 01:58, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you again to the community for contributions to this thread. I am proposing an addition to the previously recommended sentence for more clarity. "On October 23, Polovets’s legal counsel filed a response denying the accusation, indicating that the plaintiff filed for her second bankruptcy several weeks before suing Mr. Polovets and that the lawsuit includes false and malicious claims." The motion was dimissed. Pretty recently by the looks of it which may explain why there was no follow up articles.
Given this, what's the best way to deal with this? Remove it entirely from the article? What's the precedent? Would be good to have some input from an editor experienced with this. MaskedSinger (talk) 18:26, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
