Infobox and lede

edit
  • "of wealthy parents" → "to wealthy parents"
  • "He translations of" → "His translations of"
  • The birth and death in the infobox should be "Wronów, Poland" and "Poznań, Poland", respectively
  • Inconsistent date format: DMY in the text but MDY in the infobox
  • Per WP:INFONAT, the "nationality" parameter should not be included in cases where the answer is obvious: as he was born and died in Poland, it is unsurprising that he was of Polish nationality
  • "2 daughters" → "2"
  • Use Template:Marriage to add the parameter that he and his wife were married in 1853

Life

edit

Family and early years

edit
  • Comma after "Polish village of Wronów"
  • "born in" → "b." for both of his parents
  • "Stanislaw and his the family was brought up" → "Koźmian and his family were brought up"
  • "from 1821-1825" → "from 1821 to 1825"
  • Comma after "On November 30, 1830" per MOS:DATECOMMA
    • This is also the only instance I see where the date format is MDY and not DMY
  • Comma after "from school"
  • "but two weeks' later" → "but two weeks later"
  • Italicize podporucznik

Exile in England

edit
  • Comma after "When the revolution failed"
  • "left the country lived" → "left Poland to live"
  • "teaching French" → "as a French teacher"
  • "London. There he promoted" → "London, where he"
  • Ireland and Scotland are not continental Europe
  • Comma after "On his return journey"
  • Comma after "During much of his time as an exile"
  • Comma instead of period after "Friends of Poland" in the last paragraph
  • "During 1837 (and again in 1848)" → "In both 1837 and 1848"

Return to Poland

edit
  • "from 1869–1872" → "from 1869 to 1872"
  • "Society" is inconsistently capitalized throughout this section

Literary career

edit

Writer

edit
  • Comma after "until the magazine ceased publication in 1865"
  • "and on Shakespeare"
  • "consists mainly" → "consisted mainly"
N not sure about this, as his prose still exists. Consisted would imply the works are lost. Amitchell125 (talk) 16:33, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "and where collected" → "and were collected"
  • No comma after "and later"
  • Move the WL on Mickiewicz to the first sentence of that paragraph rather than the second
  • Switch hyphens for en dashes in the last paragraph
  • Switch em dash for comma after "described in one of his poems"

Translator

edit
  • Comma after "That year" and not "friend Ulrich"
  • "hard to find except in" → "hard to find outside of"

Selected works

edit
  • Good

References

edit
  • Good

General comments

edit

  • No stability concerns in the revision history
  • Copyvio score looks good at 15.3%

@GhostRiver: All comments addressed except for one (marked with the red cross above). Many thanks for your review. Amitchell125 (talk) 16:43, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for making those changes; I see what you mean about past vs. present tense; from my POV, the past was because he died. Otherwise, looks good, happy to pass! — GhostRiver 18:45, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, just lurking here, I'm surprised because this article has been removed from the nominations list by Legobot (edit) but it's not displayed as passed on the talk page of the article, even though I thought all of that was automatic and done at the same time. A455bcd9 (talk) 09:00, 24 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, A455bcd9. I think it takes a little while for the process to be completed—I notice that it is now listed, but the GA icon has yet to appear at the top of the article. Amitchell125 (talk) 09:06, 24 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ah OK thanks. Maybe editing the talk page as explained in WP:GAN/I#PASS can fasten the process? A455bcd9 (talk) 09:09, 24 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't think Legobot cares much for diacritics, based on the way it freaked out when I started this review. I manually added the GA topicon and can add the revision ID myself as well. — GhostRiver 14:24, 24 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
