Stanwell Place

edit

1. Photograph: Although I have one or two photographs of Stanwell Place at present I can not use them due to copyright issues. If anyone has a suitable photo to upload it would enhance the article.

2. Use of Stanwell Place by SHAEF: Although I know from family information that there were two high level meeting held at Stanwell Place to plan the Normandy Invasion I have been unable to find any better reference to it than that given in Spelthorne Borough Council's Local List of Buildings and Structures of Architectural or Historic Interest - February 2004: Burial Monument of Sir John Gibson. I would love to have additional information. For instance I know that the American high command stayed at Stanwell Place. I assume that high ranking British officials also attended but have no information on this. If anyone does have any information I would be grateful to hear about it.
