Reviewing for WP:URFA/2020.
There are a number of dubious sources used in the article, including:
- CreepColony.com
- sclegacy.com
- Soundtrack Collector
- Game OST
- MobyGames (listed as unreliable at WP:VGRS)
Sjgames.com- WP:VGRS says that post-2010 Kotaku stuff is reliable, but there's a 2009 Kotaku piece cited.
- Openpandora.org
- Blizzplanet
- Boardgame Geek
- There's a ton of primary sources, too: the Business Wire press release, a bunch of Blizzard Entertainment sites, interviews, and official company websites.
- Writers Club Press is a subsidiary of a self-publishing company, so that author would have to have really good credentials.
- Formatting issues abound
- Small amounts of uncited text.
If the sourcing is not improved, this may undergo a featured article review. Hog Farm Bacon 05:35, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- I don't even recognize half of these sources, so this is definitely concerning for a featured article. Le Panini [🥪] 14:35, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- Just want to comment that "sjgames.com" is the website of Steve Jackson Games. BOZ (talk) 16:52, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- Updated the sjgames ref to properly show that it's referencing SJG's magazine Pyramid. The other sources listed do remain questionable-at-best though.--AlexandraIDV 23:35, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
@Hog Farm, Le Panini, Alexandra IDV, and BOZ: The above sources are still in the article, and I imagine some research will have to be done to find new sources for the information they verify or remove the information all together. Is anyone interested in fixing up the article? If not, would you be willing to bring this to WP:FAR? I am at my 5 article limit for nominating articles at FAR (and I think Hog Farm is, too) but I am happy to help if someone else wants to nominate this. Please ping me if you have any questions.
