Aerogel shape
editI didn't like the term aerogel film when I wrote it, but it seems the detector is nothing like a cube, more of a thin slice (or several of them). Now it reads "a set of aerogel blocks". Can we possibly find a description or a diagram that works for people who have never seen the detector? Algae 09:03, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
As far as I know it is a block of ~1 cm thick. It is only the top 100 micrometer or so that is being scanned by the microscope. Bas
