Title

Should this page not be named State University of New York College at Old Westbury? This is a college that is a branch of SUNY, not itself a university --JimWae 04:08, 2005 July 24 (UTC)

NPOV

While this article does produce some interesting details, I think it is most appropriate that any wikipedian who is also a student of the school or has background knowledge of the school write it from a non POV standpoint. This will make the article more appropriate for Wikipedia. Mystify85JEC 19:52, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

I concur. This reads like an advertisement for the school.Solenoid (talk) 15:16, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
As a former student and graduate of the college, i will be happy to make some changes and make it the same as other colleges. Crazycameraboy (talk) 20:29, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
This article still reads like an advertisement in some parts, mainly because no one has changed it. Anyone up for it? A Stop at Willoughby (talk) 02:43, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

In reviewing this against public info on the school, it looks accurate but agree it reads like a recruitment piece. Will try and spend time in coming weeks to improve. Also, found citation for history section so I removed the tag from that section. If someone better practiced at this feels it should be placed there again, please do. Academics

I removed a graph containing some accomplishments apparently achieved several years ago. Could find not information to cite them as accurate. Others can undo if they see fit. AnFranklin67 (talk) 20:43, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Dormitory Policies

The link for the reference to the Farmingdale "take-over" no longer exists and I could find no other information citing this situation. At best, it seems like old news. I was going to delete it out of hand but figured I would post here to see if anyone would disagree. If I do not see other comments by August 10, 2010 I would then remove. AnFranklin67 (talk) 20:43, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Removed that section on August 12, 2010. AnFranklin67 (talk) 13:47, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Controversies

First off, I would like to apologize for not removing the "Controversies" section of this article when I was giving it a touch up. Anyway, after looking at other criticisms of colleges qand universities, this is totally at a level by itself. It seems to do nothing more than bash other students and is sort of biased. I will also ask an administrator to lock the page from edits from new and unregistered editors because this is just getting a little too childish. I suggest to the students at this school, that if you have a problem with someone or a group on campus that you follow the right avenues. Do not bring the school's issues to wikipedia, as this is not the place for it. If anybody disagrees with this, please post it on this talk page before readding it. • Wikipedia is to cover every aspect, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Having said that, it's a terrible idea to have a "controversy" section. Instead the content should be distributed throughout the article. What I did is that I put the mary jane stuff in the history section and the dorm stuff a new section. Incoming President

Dr. Timothy Sams, Vice President of Student Affairs at Prairie View A&M University, has been announced as the new, incoming president of SUNY Old Westbury, effective January 11, 2021. link DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 17:10, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Minor stats question

from the main website 1 it says 3300 students and 122 FT faculty vice 4000/132 of the article. Also 45 degrees versus the 40 mentioned in the article--Billymac00 (talk) 01:53, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
