Need sources

edit

If anyone has any sources regarding the PC-98 release, let me know. TarkusABtalk 23:44, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Its not for the PC-98 release but there is a review for the PC Engine CD release here in this French magazine: ReVival on their April 2005 issue. Do The Math (talk) 19:39, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

1. Is it well-written?

edit

In short, yes. The layout seems perfectly fine, so does grammar/spelling.

2. Is it verifiable with no original research?

edit

Yes, the article is meticulously sourced. All sources are reliable.

3. Is it broad in its coverage?

edit

'Yes.. It covers everything from development, gameplay, to reception.

However, I would encourage User:TarkusAB to include a plot summary, giving a brief overview of plot and setting. I would do it myself, but the only English source here does not provide a useful plot summary, and all Youtube playthroughs of the game I could find used Japanese audio (I take it it never was released outside of Japan). I do not know how intricate the plot is, but I always consider it a must to include a plot summary if a game has one. As Tarkus seems to speak Japanese, maybe he/she can check back with me on this point.

4. Is it neutral?

edit

Yes.

5. Is it stable?

edit

Yes. Absolutely nothing is going to change here.

6. Is it illustrated?

edit

Yes, sufficiently.

Conclusion

edit

After examining the article, I conclude that it qualifies for an immediate pass. However, I would like to hear back from Tarkus whether a plot summary is doable/makes sense, until which I will delay finishing the review.--DasallmächtigeJ (talk) 11:59, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

@DasallmächtigeJ:I split out the plot into its own section and added some details. I don't want to push too much undue weight on the plot per WP:VG/PLOT, and the details are not commented on by any sources. TarkusABtalk 14:44, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Alright, perfect! I'll update the status of the article right now.--DasallmächtigeJ (talk) 15:42, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Expansion:

edit
  • Superjuegos

Spanish mag with a 1 page preview of the Saturn version. This is somewhere that I can be of use.

  • PC Engine and Famitsu

These reviews need to be added and summarized. I can't read Japanese, so I can't do this. The PC-Engine Fan issue that reviews this is not available online I believe. And though not listed, Famitsu more than likely reviewed the PCE version as well.

  • Steam Heart's Perfect Collection

This should get a mention. I can't find a RS that mentions it, but comments online say that it's a one level time/score attack for Windows and possibly OSX. I have found an imgur gallery showing it off too. There isn't a Windows version as far as I know, but there seems to be a little confusion about this on the net. The Perfect Collection, which these are all from, does contain a game for Windows, but it's not the full game. It's just a single level time/score attack, with graphics from the Saturn version. I think it also contains high quality images on the cd as well. It's some kind of special collection or something. It's not a full version as far as I can tell. ASCII alludes to some kind of a windows version.

  • Japanese previews

JP Saturn mags almost certainly did full previews of the game, going into depth about the story and characters.

  • artbooks

The artist may have released an artbook which would cover this game.

Character names:

edit

This is a game that had no official English localization, so I'm not certain as to what the cast are called. Both SPG and Superjuegos render the game's protagonists as "Blondia" and "Falandia". The page now calls them "Blow" and "Falla", which would make their names sexual puns. I can definitely see how foreign game mags, with out any guidance, could turn those names into "Blondia" and "Falandia". But are we certain these are pun names and accurate?
