Steering ratio example
editThe 21 August 2022 edit alters the steering-ratio example in a way that looks inconsistent with other references by at least a factor of 2, since the altered example reckons with the sum of the turn angles of the inner and outer wheels rather than their mean or effective value. The example in question also features some remarkably large turn angles (also has the outer wheel turning more sharply than the inner one, which looks wrong). These large turn angles, together with the double counting, yield a supposed steering ratio of about 5:1, whereas the previous sentence states that 12:1 to 20:1 is typical, so this new example looks atypical. - Done. Inner wheel angle>outer, reduced max wheel angle, sorted maths, better values. 42 degrees is about the limit of a typical CV joint. With wide wheels the max wheel travel is often further limited by tire to body clearance etc. Greglocock (talk) 23:13, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
