Extinction

The cited source suggests that both are possible explanations, but prefers the climate change hypothesis as they think that the Stegomastodons were rather specialist feeders, and therefore more vulnerable to such changes. This is backed up by evidence from the Pampean region that large mammal extinctions began before the arrival of humans. Mikenorton (talk) 23:33, 22 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
