I remembering hearing this mentioned during a Buffalo Sabres broadcast shortly after they acquired Heinze. I believe the reasoning was that the Bruins felt a "joke" name/number combination like "Heinze 57" would be detrimental to the team's image, or something like that. I read that there was another Steve Heinze, an actor. This wouldn't matter too much, but the page for The Limey links to this one, even though I am pretty sure they are different people. Could you sort this out?
