Allegations re Chinese dissident

Considering the very very detailed 57,462 bytes 200+ lines content already existed before my edit, including art collection and accolade, 1.8 line is really not that proportionally. Words about Guo, who is described as the biggest threat to the Chinese Communist party even harsher than the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, is to emphasize how important Guo is and why Wynn's behavior is extremely inappropriate (some already mentioned it was illegal). Except it wasn't based on them, it was cut and pasted from them with no effort at paraphrase. You can't do that.

At the same time it introduced some important errors, the most important being that your edit simply says this happened. All but one of the sources say that the WSJ said that it happened.

I do not, however, agree with the recent edit which moves this a mile down the article. This is far more significant than some of the trivia which is in the lead. Pinkbeast (talk) 21:18, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

The lead is supposed to be a summary of the article and particularly why the subject is notable. Wynn is notable for his 30-year high-profile business career. Compare that to a news story about him handing a letter to the President, which was reported three days ago, and might be all but forgotten in a week. IMO it's WP:RECENTISM to include it in the lead, unless and until something much bigger comes of it. Toohool (talk) 22:24, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Is he also notable for collecting art and joining the Republican party? Both of those seem to be common enough pursuits.

Yes, he is pretty well known for his art collecting, as can be seen from the variety of sources that have covered it over many years, some of which are cited further down in the article. Good point that the sentence about him being a member of the Republican party is silly, I changed it to focus on the more significant fact that he's a prominent donor to the party.
