Court dimensions
editI have found conflicting information about court dimensions. This reference [1] states 78 x 27 feet. But this one [2] gives 84 x 30 feet. It is certainly possible that courts were never intended to be identical, so both could be "correct." — Eoghanacht talk 14:41, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
Name origin
editI read an account, possibly erroneous, that the origin of the name "Sticke" is unclear. It either derives from Sphairistikè (Greek for "playing ball"), the term originally given to lawn tennis by Walter Clopton Wingfield [probably factual], or from a Major-General Sticke, a French Canadian who is credited with inventing the game. — Eoghanacht talk 13:00, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
