Lot of fun to write this. Would be nice if it just turns out to be bogus. user:Fredbauder
- What are the pros and cons in your opinion? --Daniel C. Boyer
Whether a stock market crash as opposed to a bear market exists is a bit hard to tell during the event, although a drop of a 1000 or more in one trading session would probably qualify, but such drops would cause suspension of trading under modern rules. According to the New York Times we have had a bear market since March. The events of the last week or so have been an acceleration of that process and seem to meet the definition of a crash. In fact, the psychological reassurances being made to the public are themselves symptomatic of a crash. See the external link I will soon add to the article for a rather more sophisticated analysis of the current prospects as trading opens today, Monday, July 22, 2002. User:Fredbauder
