Therascal99's edits appear suspiciously like those of blocked users Sgt. Dizzle Guy and Lou Pepe, discussed in Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/96.247.37.61 (3rd), i.e., editing beer-related articles, pointing out who is Jewish, editing sports-related pages, etc. Plus, she appeared as soon as Sgt. "Summary" section

"Summary" section, which lists the details of SBC, needs an entire rewrite. It currently violates Wikipedia's standards on puffery language, also making many unsourced claims. Primary Source Material

I noticed that the vast majority of the sources come from Stone's websites and its affiliates. Though the article itself does not read like an advertisement, doesn't this make the article inherently biased, as per the wikipedia guidelines? Thanks for your help, person who responds to this. Claims not supported by references

Am I missing something? I could not find evidence supporting these broad claims in the reference links supplied:

Stone Brewing is rated as one of the best brewers in the US and world by the two largest beer enthusiast websites, RateBeer and BeerAdvocate. Stone Brewing has been voted by the readers of Beer Advocate as the #1 Best Brewery all time ever, two years in a row.

I can well believe that these claims are true, but they either need to find a primary independent source that supports them, or they need to be deleted.--MelanieN (talk) 23:14, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

The Beer Advocate link does indeed rate the brewery as "world class", but I don't evidence of the stated claims in the other links. Ratebeer rates an associated brewpub as "world class", not the brewery itself.

Also, Beer Advocate did rate Stone Brewery as the "all time top brewery on planet Earth" as well as several of Stone's offering in the 25 "all time top beers on planet Earth." Stone reproduces that part of the magazine on their website here: http://www.stonebrewing.com/news/081211/ - I think it would be fair to cite that magazine article.

They also list a bunch of their awards at http://www.stonebrewing.com/press/facts.asp and the sources for those could be cited as well. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:08, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, that's very helpful. I'll change "one of the best brewers in the US and world" to "world class brewer" per the sources. (May mean more or less the same, but we should use the wording used by the sources.) I do think we can cite the "all time top" article even though it is linked to the brewery's page. Probably not all of those awards are notable. I'd say the first four listed are worth mentioning, but not the numerous beer festival awards. It's like in the wine world: just about every winery in existence has won an award at a local festival, but there are only a handful of notable awards that really matter. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:02, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

A question, Sandiegoian: as I was cleaning up the links I found a link from BrewDog in Scotland. That page lists the following beer: "Bashah (9% ABV) - (Black As Sin Hoppy As Hell) a hybrid of imperial stout, Belgian abbey ale and IPA, made in collaboration with Stone Brewing". Does that refer to your company, or are they referring to some other brewery named Stone Brewing? --MelanieN (talk) 23:36, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
