The bio is incredibly similar to http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/musgrave.html Does it need to be edited? 2.224.63.16 (talk) 14:44, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
UFO sighting
Attempting to make language on Musgrave's reported UFO sighting during space shuttle Columbia mission STS-80 more neutral. Formerly read "He also claims to have seen UFOs during the flight."
- (1) Per the online source http://www.agoracosmopolitan.com/home/Frontpage/2007/11/09/01935.html Musgrave reported seeing "a" UFO.
- (2) IMHO "UFO" is neutral language as it stands, since it refers to seeing something "unidentified".
- (3) Per Wikipedia style guideline Wikipedia:Words_to_avoid#Claim, changed "claims to have seen" to "was also reported to have seen"

The basis for this UFO sighting was never confirmed. In interviews Dr. Musgrave has denied this repeatedly but the story has a life of its own now. The linked reference is from a very very dubious source. This essentially amounts to hearsay and gossip. Evan1261 (talk) 10:29, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- Can you provide a reference for his denial pls. He certainly has made some rather controversial 'alien' type statements in the past, ofcourse after he retired, and no-doubt to plug a book, so inclusion of such statements seems warranted to me. I see none of these statements remain. Seems like wikipedia is becoming excessively self-censoring - or has gained such a high reputation that subjects of bio articles or their interested parties find it necessary to remove these sort of statements themselves.1812ahill (talk) 14:29, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
Drop out/GED inclusion
This event is an extremely important part of his life that Story communicates repeatedly. It is also touched upon in virtually every biography he has ever endorsed. Needs to be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.113.154.31 (talk) 07:28, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
