Name of article
editI believe the more common name is Stradbroke Island, for example in newspaper articles such as Sydney Morning Herald of 10 Jan 2006. Wikipedia:Naming conventions states: "Generally, article naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature."
Unlike Uluru, where the indigenous name has wide acceptance and recognition amongst Australians, the indigenous name for this island is not much known to those of us not from Queensland, nor used in the press. I think this article should be named Stradbroke Island in accordance with the Wikipedia naming policy.--A Y Arktos 21:17, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
