I think this page is wrong, it mixes up everything. A strategic alliance is a contractual agreementhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_venture
There is a huge difference between a strategic alliance and a joint venture. In a joint venture, two or more entities join to create a new enterprise with separate leadership and governance structure, away from the contributing (or owning) entities. A strategic alliance on the other hand, is a contractual agreement among two or more entities to cooperate and collaborate for a specific purpose, i.e.: supply chain, distribution, research, risk sharing, product development, national or international face for customers, etc. Edrigsbee (talk) 15:11, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
