The article on touchstone is very specific in that it deals with soft metals and their "colored strip" (essentially a streak). Streak is applicable to all minerals soft enough to leave a streak on a streak plate. It is a defining characteristic of a mineral in hand sample, and as a student of geology, I have never heard of touchstone before.--Peter.vandereep 05:41, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
