Feedback from New Page Review process

edit

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Thanks for bringing this interesting content on Streptococcosis to Wikipedia. It looks like most of the sources using this term are from those studying fish, although there are some references in other animals too. The term doesn't seem to be in common use outside of marine field, so some of the article seems to be a synthesis of material. That might worth be reflecting on. Nevertheless, having place where Stretococcal diseases are discussed, away from the Streptococcus page, seems reasonable.

Thanks for raising this point @Klbrain! As a microbiologist, my understanding is that the dominance of this term in aquaculture studies is because unclean industrial farming conditions allow such bacterial infections to spread among fish. Strep infections are common in human throats, but that information is relegated to the Streptococcal pharyngitis article. BluePenguin18 🐧 ( 💬 ) 23:00, 5 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
