New section on health concerns

edit

I find the new information under the section called health concerns to be informative and important. My only question is the lack of referring to the bacteria specifically but I think this section could be rewritten to relate to this particular species of bacteria. This new section on health concerns would be a good addition to the probiotics article since it is quite general.

Reference 23 makes no reference to S. thermophilus, but again, the content and reference would be a good addition to the Probiotics article. Reference 24 also does not mention S. thermophilus and is from 2005 and might be a little outdated. It does not appear to be a review article.

Low quality, non-neutral reference for health benefits

edit

The statement

In fact, yogurt and cheese that contain live cultures of S. thermophilus are thought to be beneficial to health.

is attributed to a book called The Wonder of Probiotics: A 30-Day Plan to Boost Energy, Enhance Weight Loss, Heal GI Problems, Prevent Disease, and Slow Aging by Deborah Mitchell and John R. Taylor. The publisher's website describes Mitchell as 'a freelance writer specializing in health, medical and environmental topics' and Taylor as 'the CEO and president' of a website that sells vitamins. This is far from a neutral or reliable source for medicine, and I've tagged it as needing a better source.
