editWe need secondary history of struc anth sources to back up claims like "Lévi-Straus' theory was unfortunately debunked by others" and numerous other such claims 128.214.200.181 (talk) 09:51, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
The introductory description - which limits structuralism to Lévi-Strauss - is factually incorrect. It omits any reference to Radcliffe-Brown, any of the U Chicago people, or V. Turner, for just a few intersecting examples. Certainly Radcliffe-Brown pre-dates L-S!Kevincof (talk) 15:05, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
Dialectics
editThe article includes fundamental misunderstandings about Hegel's thoughts on dialectics. Reference should be made to immanent critique and unity of opposites rather than "thesis, antithesis, synthesis" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.39.146.44 (talk) 01:43, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
Sourcing (quote)
editThe block quote in the overview section is taken from this website which sources it as being from "Barnard, A. 2000. History and Theory in Anthropology. Cambridge: CUP." I don't know the citation standards for quoting via another source, but for now I'll update it to cite the website. LWmelon (talk) LWmelon (talk) 17:18, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- Update: Upon looking closer, the entire first two sections are copy-pasted directly from that website LWmelon (talk) LWmelon (talk) 17:22, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
