Rename

Suggest to rename into History of the "Structure of the military of ancient Rome" or "Evolution of the Roman military" (if the word evolution is not considered POV-pushing by someone). The current titele suggest one constant structure which is to be explained in full detail here. Wandalstouring 13:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Auxilia

The reference cited the Auxilia as an equal detachment to the legions is incorrect. The garrison of North Africa consisted of one legion (III Cyrenaica) equalling some 5,500 men, while there were some 20,000 soldiers of the Auxilia stationed to cover the same area.

Can you source your statement and sign your comment using this: ~~~~ ? Most history books write exactly the opposite (this doesn't mean they are right). Wandalstouring 15:29, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
