Date of Sturlunga saga compilation
editI have noted that dating the compilation to c.1300 is disputed. The premise for dating the compilation to c.1300 is that Þórður Narfason (d. 1308) was the compiler. This assumption has been carried forward since the 19th century with little question, even though more than one candidate for the compiler has been known about since the 1800s. Recent research has questioned this assumption, and proposed that the original compilation may have been produced as late as c.1330.[1] Sturlunga (talk) 07:07, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
