Antarctica Eruption

edit

I think it's pretty irrelevant considering how little information there is on it. Shall I remove it? --Guanlong wucaii 12:50, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

there's much overlap between the two. Fgnievinski (talk) 06:27, 15 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

The two are Subglacial eruption and Subglacial volcano and agree with merge. Vsmith (talk) 12:29, 16 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
I disagree. From my understanding a subglacial volcano is only a volcano that formed under glacial ice. Subglacial eruptions are not limited only to subglacial volcanoes as they can also take place at stratovolcanoes and shield volcanoes that were subsequently buried under ice sheets. This is especially true for long-lived centers that had activity prior, during and after glacial periods, an example being Level Mountain in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. Merging subglacial eruption with subglacial volcano would be like merging effusive eruption to shield volcano; it is common for effusive eruptions to take place at shield volcanoes but effusive eruptions also occur at stratovolcanoes, fissure vents and cinder cones. Closing, given that there is no consensus for a merge over more than 2 years, and discussion is stale. Klbrain (talk) 13:21, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
