Length of Ground
editIn AFL circles, Subiaco Oval is considered to be the longest ground in the competition, with visiting interstate teams often having to adjust their playing style accordingly.
Surely this can be an established fact? Either there is a longer ground or there isn't. Can someone who knows where to look do a quick bit of research & amend accordingly. Megamanic 09:05, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- I think (don't remember exactly) I was the one that put that statement in. Whenever there is football commentary (TV, radio, print etc.) the lenght/"expanse" of Subiaco Oval often gets a mention so it more a case of assumed knowledge. The "Oval" and the "Stadium" are not the same thing
editThe stadium may have been demolished, but the oval hasn’t. Subiaco Oval is the playing surface, and the stadium is the structure that used to exist around the playing surface. Now we have just the oval again. Are there any objections to phrasing it like that in the article? Betterkeks (talk) 03:28, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
