Review
editOverall, a webpage that has lots of good information, and a very good start. However, there were a number of problems with the initial page, some of which need to be corrected.
- In the Introduction there are a number of statements that need further explanation, and a citation that does not seem to be appropriate. - Sulfurimonas paralvinellae – size should have been in µm not mm. - When talking about characteristics, you are referring to an organism not the name, so it should be an isolate of Sulfurimonas gotlandica or members of the genus Sulfurimonas, for example. - “Their ability to survive in extreme conditions is attributed to multiple copies of one enzyme” – WHAT ENZYME? This should be included. - “Phylogenetic analysis suggests that members of the genus Sulfurimonas have limited dispersal ability and its speciation was affected by geographical isolation rather than hydrothermal composition.” This statement needs a citation. - Several problems in Table. Citation for Sulfurimonas gotlandica was incorrect. Sizes should be µm not mm in several places. - Citation 10 and Citation 13 were the same. - Formatting of some references were problematic (e.g. Reference 12) - I modified this sentence to correct the tense: “Water samples were collected at different depths and the concentrations of nutrients, oxygen, and sulfur measured immediately after sampling. The sample was measured for carbon fixation rate, and the DNA extracted and specific sequences amplified by PCR”, but, it is not clear what genes were being amplified by PCR and why. - There were numerous grammatical problems – tense, sentence structure, etc. throughout. - This sentence needs to be edited: “Despite this, Sulfurimonas are in competition with Thioclava, Sulfuricurvum, and Thiohalomonas, which correlate with 15.4%, 12.0%, and 17.0% respectively [1]”, as it is not clear what they correlate with.
A lot of effort was put into creating this Wikipedia article, which is great, but it still needs a little polishing Curt99 (talk) 02:48, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
