editI suppose Japan is the only user of this variant, Has the NTK-62 ever been exported abroad?
- No, due to strict anti-export laws. Diet will need to amend this before they would consider doing so to friendly nations. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.68.55.148 (talk) 00:37, 14 March 2007 (UTC).
Relationship to Browning M1919
editThe statement was made that the Type 62 is a modified Browning M1919. This is not true. The Type 62 bears very little similarity to the M1919.
The Type 62 is gas operated, the M1919 is recoil operated. The Type 62 uses a tilting bolt that locks directly into the receiver, the M1919 uses a vertically sliding locking block that engages the bottom of the bolt, locking the bolt to a barrel extension that itself moves in the receiver. The Type 62 pushes cartridge through the linked ammunition feed belt and into the chamber, the M1919 pulls cartridges to the rear and then slides them down for chambering. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.152.94.226 (talk) 06:06, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
