External links to the market reports are useful for people interested in investing in this company. These reports are normally not free and as a result are a vaulble resource for free here.

They do not meet WP:EL. The first link, to the company profile, has no information that could not be incorporated into the article and is a month out of date in any case. The second does not even mention Suncor. --Yamla 22:20, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Suncor is more than the intro suggests

Suncor and its oil sands operations are a bigger focus of the company’s operations than the current introduction in the article indicates. Expanding the introduction would provide a better explanation of what Suncor is about.

Referencing Suncor's web site, Suncor is, in fact, Canada’s original oil sands developer, having produced the first barrel of crude oil from the Athabasca oil sands in northern Alberta in 1967. Suncor is the world’s second largest producer of oil sands crude (after Syncrude Canada Ltd.) and is the only company to currently use both mining and in-situ resource technologies. A fully integrated company, Suncor upgrades the oil from the oil sands to the level of conventional crude at its upstream facilities and then ships the crude to the company’s refineries in Sarnia, Ontario and Commerce City, Colorado for conversion into transportation fuels and other petroleum products. Suncor also has natural gas operations in Alberta and British Columbia, which help supply the energy needs of the company’s oil sands and refining operations. Post-Merger

Did I read right, that Suncor is going to be the name of the company after it acquires Petro-Can? Founding year

While the American Sun Company began doing business in Canada in 1917, it did not establish an office in Canada until 1919 so 1919 should be Suncor's founding year. Steelbeard1 (talk) 01:03, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of section of facilities isn't acceptable

I recommand to conserve the section of facilities inside this acticle. It's a important section of the compagny. --Fredoues (talk) 06:08, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Facilities are now listed in a paragraph form, covering all the relevant sections. At the very least, none of those numbers are sourced properly, so inclusion violates WP:V Max.inglis (talk) 14:27, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I've reviewed it again, and the whole "here's a unsourced list of facilities and their capacities" not only looks bad and breaks up any sort of flow the article has, but like I said before is unsourced. I've been reviewing the Oil company articles and attempting to remove this kind of listing because it doesn't add to the article other than the appearance of padding. Clarification on fine from Canadian Competition Bureau

Under the history section, the recent addition to this article is not factual. The fine that Suncor Energy agreed to pay for was for charges for one single location - Bellville, not “some of the company’s gas stations”.

I would suggest the text read “On April 13, 2012 Suncor Energy Products Inc. agreed to pay a $500,000 fine after pleading guilty to charges that it and a competitor worked to fix the price of gasoline in Bellville, Ontario in 2007. This result came from a larger investigation into price-fixing by Ontario gasoline retailers

The content on the fine is still not correct. Might I suggest that it read:

On April 13, 2012 Suncor Energy Products consented to a fine for non-compliance under the Competition Act as a result of certain isolated business communications involving its Sunoco branded gas stations in the Belleville, Ontario area in 2007.

Request for change to content on fine from Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in Environmental Record section

The content on the April 13, 2012 fine from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is incorrect. As is indicated in the news release from the Colorado Department of Public Heath and Environment here: http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/release/2012/040212.pdf Suncor was fined for violations related to air emissions from waste and wastewater at its Commerce City refinery. This fine is not connected to contamination of the Colorado water system.

As such, I would request that the content be altered to read:

In April 2012, Suncor was fined $2.2 million US by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for violations related to air emissions from waste and wastewater at its Commerce City refinery.

‎Environmental record

I recently edited the environmental record section to place the paragraph regarding Suncor's positive environmental contributions to the end of the section, following a couple paragraphs on Suncor's central business, ie petrochemicals. I feel it is appropriate to place the information on Suncor's central business before the paragraph on their marginal activities. My edit was reverted by User:Pmbcomm with the comment "There is no reason to delete this info. It is factual." As the comment associated with the reversion of my edit clearly demonstrated a misunderstanding about what I had done, I reverted it. I don't revert other's good faith edits casually, and I would ask others to avoid reverting my edits without understanding what they are reverting. I am open to discuss the organization of the section, but would ask that my edit not be reverted without discussion. Thanks. --Keithonearth (talk) 00:38, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
