matt groening said on the huffington post that rupert murdoch wrote his own entrance line, "I'm rupert murdoch the billionaire tyrant, and this is my skybox." we should put that in here. Janemansfield74 06:51, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Non-sensical line

edit

The sentence "All of the people (Except Comic Book Guy) Homer tells Marge have not had a name revealed" doesn't make sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.32.114 (talk) 02:35, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Furthermore it's also incorrect, the Sea Captain has been named as Captain McAlister in the episode "New Kid on the Block." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.190.213 (talk) 23:12, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reference

edit

I changed the reference section to state that the title is a play on the U2 song "Sunday, Bloody Sunday", as it's much more likely that the name is taken from one of the best known songs ever, rather than from an obscure British movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.50.151.8 (talk) 10:07, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Um, Sunday Bloody Sunday is a real event in Irish history, not just a pop culture reference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.35.144.110 (talk) 09:19, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

And I never said it wasn't. However, when one is referring to the event in Irish (and British) history, the proper term is simply Bloody Sunday. As a matter of fact, it is a good idea to also mention the year of the event being referred to, as there are days referred to as Bloody Sunday in 1913, 1920, and 1972 in Ireland.SpudHawg948 (talk) 00:57, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Kent Brockman

edit

Is said that Kent Brockman was on the Homer's group to watch the Super Bowl, but when I watched the episode I didn't notice him, Can anyone confirm this? --Asmactic (talk) 04:40, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dollywood

edit

I cut out the line about Dollywood in which it was written that this was a reference to the Disneyland parks, as the use Dollywood parks do actually exist, and are not a made up park that the writers used to reference Disneyworld. This was an error someone had made, missing the reference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.168.50.214 (talk) 07:35, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Aabf08.jpg

edit

Image:Aabf08.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Maude

edit

Is it worth mentioning that when marge is recording their adress on the phone for the egg magic thing, Maude Flanders walks in, stopping Marge just before she says the state which they live in, a long going joke on the show.--84.67.83.99 (talk) 17:23, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Talking While Holding Beer Mug

edit

I wonder if it's a reference to something when Homer, Wally, Moe, and the others in the bar talk while holding an empty mug in front of their lips. I didn't get that joke and figured it must be a referenc to something. 64.231.12.64 (talk) 22:07, 5 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

- I think I remember reading that they did that because it wasn't known who would be in the Super Bowl yet, but I could be wrong. -RudyReis (talk) 20:54, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • ""Sunday, Cruddy Sunday" was directed by Steven Dean Moore and written by former staff writers George Meyer, Brian Scully, Mike Scully and Tom Martin, the first credit he received for the series." Whose first credit was it? Needs clarification. Also, what do you mean by former staff writers? Were they no longer staff writers when they wrote the episode?
  • ", whose members members sent hundreds of angry letters" members twice
  • "the "road king package" " Why is this italicized?
  • Indicate who Tom Martin, George Meyer and Brian and Mike Scully are in the production section (producers?)
  • "Scully stated that he was "shocked" by Parton's "tiny" length, however" What do you mean by length? Her short part, or her waist? :D
  • "The controversy surrounding the scene has since been referenced in later episodes of the series. In the season 11 episode "Behind the Laughter", Bart is featured on tee-shirts saying "Life starts at conception, man!", and in another episode, Waylon Smithers rushes into a downtown church to confess his sins, only to find Police Chief Wiggum has been listening in on him.[19] " I don't really see how those two scenes reference the controversy. Perhaps clarify?
The source does not specify how they reference the controversy, just that they do.
  • Sentences with quotes end with citations
  • Ref 4 needs publisher. Also, un-italicize BBC
  • Remove caps in Refs 8, 13, 18, 23, and 24
  • Refs 13 and 18 could use a different publisher (and a wililink). Is Catalyst really the publisher? Not the Catholic League?
  • Unless you're planning on making their own articles, you can remove the two wikilinks for the two books' authors

On hold for seven days. Thanks, Ruby2010 comment! 22:01, 23 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well I'm happy to have been helpful! :) What a fantastic achievement on your part to have completed an entire season of episodes! I know how difficult that is. Great work! I'm pleased to pass this last season 10 episode for GA. Thanks, Ruby2010 comment! 13:49, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Vincent Price's Egg Magic

edit

Is this a reference to Price's character in the old Batman (TV series)? He played a character named "Egghead". If so, I think it should be mentioned. Squad51 (talk) 02:59, 24 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Clinton's popularity was not at all "dwindling" when the episode aired

edit

The Simpsons had a splendid history of poking of him when his popularity was clearly high, as shown by the 1996 Treehouse of Horror which aired before his 1996 landslide. In fact, when Sunday, Cruddy Sunday aired, his approval rating was at 69%[1] He was just a good excuse to write good comedy, which even Jon Stewart has acknowledged is difficult to do.2601:447:4100:C120:C04B:D468:8A18:28BF (talk) 00:14, 5 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
