Skeleton?

New structure at 39th Street

This new structure is almost half a mile east from our pinpoint. Does that mean it isn't the new station?

I don't believe that is the new station. The station isn't even scheduled to start construction for several years. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 01:59, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Drat; you're right. I was surprized and much pleased to pedal past this place, returning from Old Westbury Gardens, and intended to return for a better photo. Might still drop by to investigate, tomorrow afternoon on my way home from Jamaica or even on the way out if there's enough time in the morning. Perhaps you should e-mail it the MTA and ask them what it is. ----DanTD 13:30, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
That method may be effective, but it wouldn't get me tired, sore and sweaty, so on my way home from South Jamaica along the usual though unmarked Rust Street / Review Avenue water-level bike route yesterday I turned north to climb Greenpoint Avenue and another hill and investigate the paperwork posted on a signboard at the street corner. It's all about permission from NYCDoT for the construction company to block streets, bike lane (it's the most important marked east / west bikeway for LIC), sidewalks etc temporarily to aid their operations, but two of the permits mention "Metro Transit Authority" as the sponsor, which slightly raises my hope that this is indeed an eastern entrance to the station.
Nope. In the picture description I put a link to a PDA from MTA about this emergency exit and powerhouse combination. Thanks for your interest. Jim.henderson (talk) 20:55, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
That makes a lot more sense. I fixed the link on the file page, which got bollocked up for some reason. Cheers! Pi.1415926535 (talk) 23:58, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Location

edit

"The station's main entrance would be at street level on the west side of the Queens Boulevard bridge"-- This location puts the station on the Penn Station route. The Grand Central East Side Access route will diverge about a half mile east of there. JoeBrennan (talk) 15:24, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's still supposed to be built in conjunction with the East Side Access regardless of this. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 19:02, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sunnyside station (LIRR)Sunnyside station (New York City) – Since this station will serve both the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad, the page name should not be representative of one of these services above the other. However, I believe that per precedence with other stations located within New York City like Pennsylvania Station (New York City) and other “Sunnyside station” articles which use the name of the city they are located in, this is a more appropriate name.
