I disagree with User:Jonik in this needing to be a disambiguation page rather than a redirect. However, I'll not invest further energy in attempting to alter the path of this article further. For more information, please see the history of this page. Courtland 16:42, August 3, 2005 (UTC)

Here's an attempt to explain my reasoning. Not that this is awfully important or anything. :-)

There are virtually no links to this page from elsewhere in Wikipedia; people simply do not link to "Suomi" when they mean Finland. So, users end up here primarily by typing "suomi" into the search box. Now, when they do that, they probably want to know what "suomi" is. A redirect to Finland is not the best choice, as "suomi" can also mean the language. (One specific use case which I could imagine happens every now and then: a user sees the world "suomi" in the list of interwiki links of some article, and quickly wants to check what language that is.) So, I claim that there is no real reason for a redirect in this case, and that the short explanation is more user-friendly. --Jonik 18:18, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
