Skeleton

Am I right in thinking that the English Dubbed version of SuperTed the skeleton was actually called 'Bones'?? Please advise —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.232.33.197 (talkcontribs) 14:59, December 9th 2006

In the 80s I remember watching both the original, and then a little later the dubbed, English version, I do vaguely recall that as a kid watching Superted I noticed the name of the "Skeleton" character wasn't the "correct" translation, (unlike Smotyn/Spotty, or Superted himself who didn't even need to translated). Which way round it was though I am not certain- perhaps someone from outside Wales who only saw the English version's memory would be more reliable than mine on this one, but I reckon it was "Bones" in the English version and "scerbwd" (Skeleton) in welsh. "Esgyrnau" (Bones) just doenn't sound right to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.254.200.218 (talkcontribs) (Posted 5/1/2007 by IP)

I only ever saw the English version (living in England and all), and as far as I can remember, he was "Skeleton". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wardog (talkcontribs) 20:46, 22 February 2007 (UTC).
In Welsh he was certaintly "Sgerbwd" (Skeleton) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.129.232.128 (talk) 21:44, 10 April 2007 (UTC).

Protection

Does this really need to still be protected? It seems to have been this way for quite awhile. --Eyrian 07:32, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Ranking

Have leveled article from a mid perspective as it is one of the iconic Welsh programs that has spread outside Wales from the period. Very few others did. Am ready to be challenged. FruitMonkey (talk) 23:32, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

This page says that only Jon Pertwee returned to voice Spotty in "The Further Adventures of Superted". Certainly Bulk had an American voice, because Roy Kinnear had died before the series was made, but if they weren't Derek Griffiths and Melvyn Hayes I heard voicing Superted and Skeleton then two Americans were definitely doing great impressions of them! Either Jon Pertwee was not the only one to return or the series was re-dubbed for broadc ast in the United Kingdom where I saw it.Simon Peter Hughes (talk) 17:27, 23 February 2009 (UTC)86.171.83.171 (talk) 17:26, 23 February 2009 (UTC) me VideoMadman knows that when i look on Imdb webpage that actually Melvyn Hayes DID voice Skeleton in both UK and US versions of "The Further Adventures of Superted" whilst Superted was voiced by Danny Cooksey for USA and Derek Griffiths for UK and SpottyMan was voiced by Pat Fraley for USA and Jon Pertwee for UK. you must have not-so-good memory like me LOL XXX love from VideoMadMan xxxxx

I believe that The Further Adventures of Superted and Superted articles should be merged as they both have similar information. Anyone else agree? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwanyewest (talkcontribs) 12:24, 24 February 2006

I don't. They're two very different programs from different countries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.5.164.149 (talkcontribs) 14:02, 24 February 2006

Nor do I. The reason they are seperate is that they were made in different locations, they are of vastly differing qualities, and in my opinion at least, the original Superted was a lot better and stuck more to Mike Young's original ideas for the show. 1 more thing to both the proceeding editors, please sign your comments using 4 tildes (~) or we don't know who posted what! The discussion has sat here now since prior to 24th February, regarding the merge with the Further adventures of SuperTed article. Since this now is in excess of a week, and no one else has commented, I am going to remove the mergefrom request from the page. Please don't replace the banner immediately, but we will probably look at it again in the future. Thor Malmjursson 13:28, 5 March 2006 (UTC) Thor's pet yack

This is this is the article of the article i originally wrote I feel that there is insufficent information that distances itself the US version of superted from its UK counterpart all though i have found website links regarding the US version. I feel the UK version adaquetly covers information regarding linking the two shows. Hence my reason why they should be merged.

This article says that SuperTed's "secret magic word" remained a secret. This is not completely true. It has been sold on ebay, but the listing has been taken down. — Daniel 05:17, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

And there was me thinking his magic word must be "I'llsaymysecretmagicword". -- Smjg 20:08, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Things that were not to do with the original SuperTed

Those villian characters Prince Pyjamarama, Mufti, Bubbles the Clown, the dreaded sleepless knight, Dr Frost, Pengy, Polka face and the USA voice actors Frank Welker, Danny Cooksey and Pat Fraley were only for "The Further Adventures of SuperTed" that the US remake of Superted and not for the original first 3 superted series of 1982-1985 xxx use your initive someimes, please, thank you from VideoMadMan xxxxxxxx — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.183.138.124 (talk) 21:09, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

I have removed the references to Bubbles the Clown, as he was from an episode of The Further Adventures of SuperTed, as you say. The other characters you mention seem to have been removed already. leevclarke (talk) 02:09, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
