Talk:Super Dimension
Non-title connections between SD series
editThe Orguss article says:
- Orguss was not localized in the United States as part of Robotech as Southern Cross and Macross were. Instead, the anime Genesis Climber Mospeada was used as the third segment of Robotech. Additionally, these three series are not sequels, prequels, or even in the same story universe as one another. They do share "The Super Dimension" moniker in their titles and were presented by Big West. That was the only connection that each of the Super Dimension shows had with each other.
This SD article itself says:
- the name of a mecha anime TV show trilogy produced in Japan during the early eighties composed of the following unrelated shows
Cavalry Southern Cross#Production on the other hand says:
- The three titles share some of the same creators, and Macross is referenced by character cameos and inside references by the latter two series. However, the basic stories are unrelated.
Any shared creators who worked on multiple shows in the Super Dimension series seems worth noting. It also seems worth noting if Macross actually is referenced by cameos or inside references in either Orguss or CSC. I am wondering if we could explore these potential details and get more specific details. For example, if we could get the names of shared creators who worked on multiple series in the Super Dimensions, and if there are canonical plot links (or even vague references) on the follow-up shows back to Macross.
We know from the sequels that Macross is a large universe and still growing, so these somewhat tie Orguss and Southern Cross into it in a more valid way than Robotech or the titles would. Ranze (talk) 22:18, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
