The Larson Papers

edit

Hello!

I have been extensively reviewing, scanning, and archiving materials regarding superbia that are stored at the library of congress. I've made a recent change to this page based on the scanned material from the Larson papers. I'm not sure how best to cite them since they're not something that has been published online by the LoC. I figured I'd ask here what would be best. 173.79.0.225 (talk) 05:29, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

S.O.S. (1984) inclusion

edit

While I think it's worth mentioning that Superbia stems from an earlier attempt to create a 1984 musical, the only component of that musical that got moved into Superbia at all was After the Revolution/Ever After. S.O.S never actually appeared in a Superbia draft.

With that in mind, does it deserve an inclusion in this article under "Additional numbers"? I kind of feel like perhaps the 1984 musical should have its own page with more information rather than having it appear as a Superbia number. Casuallynoted (talk) 04:43, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

My thought re:1984 is that there simply isn't that much information publicly around about it to warrant its own page. While I'm sure the LOC archives have pretty extensive information on it, 1984 is only ever evoked in secondary sources about Jonathan Larson in relation to Superbia, and it's the existence of secondary sources that generally warrant a topic getting a full Wikipedia article. I think that it may be worth including a brief 1984 summary and even a song list on this page. Muppet321 (talk) 17:15, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
