Mention of Lenovo laptop controversy in lede
editI added a mention of this issue to the lede for this article. Most people will have come to this article for this reason, and it is therefore important to have that early in the article. User:Sceptre reverted that part of my edit (also adding a fuller text in the History section) describing my text as "weasel words". I am going to mostly-undo that deletion. I will leave out "It is mostly known" which seems to be the problematic text. Ijackson (talk) 15:28, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Removal of "Rootkit" in reference section
editHowever much I disagree with the methods employed by SuperFish - and I really do disagree with them - it is factually incorrect to describe them as rootkits. A root certificate authority and SSL MITM do not mean a rootkit was installed and I can find no evidence to back up such a descrption. As a result I've removed this entry in the reference section. The missing word: Malware
editEverything I've read about this program uses the word Malware. Why don't we? Oiyarbepsy (talk) 19:41, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
Add a semi-protection?
editCan there be a semi-protection added to this page? This is an ongoing event with Lenovo and vandalism could likely occur. ThanksPolloloco51 (talk) 03:07, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not likely to happen. It's not good to semi protect because there might be vandalism. Not until there is, and I don't see any in the history. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 03:53, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- There was one instance, actually. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Superfish&oldid=648284557 Bruiserid (talk) 04:37, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- It takes more than one to justify semi-protection. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 04:47, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks, I'm aware of that. Merely pointing out the one you'd missed -- Bruiserid (talk) 16:39, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Where has it gone?
editAs of now, the official website in the beginning of the page is a dead link. 94.176.102.31 (talk) 19:20, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
It sounds a bit like advertising...
edit--93.70.184.40 (talk) 02:07, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
- Advertising for what exactly? The article calls it malware like 10 times. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 04:36, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
Domain Name
editI don't know if anyone cares, but I just spotted superfish.com in godaddy's domain auctions. It's a high four figures, but I'd grab it if I had the cash :/ Ratstail91 (talk) 16:02, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
Rename to JustVisual?
editSince the company name is now JustVisual, shouldn't this page be renamed too (with Superfish redirecting to JustVisual). Kevink707 (talk) 16:02, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- Seems to me that it might be better known by the old name, but could have a redirect from JustVisual. Gah4 (talk) 09:12, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
